Do The Math

The information below is provided to help keep municipal officials and  the public at large updated on CCM's efforts on behalf of towns and cities.  There are currently 77 state-mandate property tax exemptions already on the books.

Keep in regular contact with  your state legislators and push them to (1) make municipal aid their priority, (2) fund, modify or repeal underfunded state mandates, - AND - (3) oppose any new unfunded state mandate on your community.

Current news articles of interest to towns and cities from CT newspapers.

Current news releases distributed by CCM on state-local issues.

CCM Mandates Report focus on pending bills that propose new state mandates on towns and cities.

These reports are sent to CCM members, State Legislators, and the Governor's office to keep them apprised of potentially harmful legislation.

Analyzing government finance issues is a critical part of CCM's public policy and advocacy work.  Fiscal and related policy decisions made at the state and federal levels have a significant impact on towns and cities and their ability to fund needed public services.  CCM provides members with critical budget-related information in a timely manner.

CCM provides in-depth reports on specific issues of interest to local governments.  These reports are intended to educate legislators, other state officials, local officials, and the general public.

CCM's General Assembly Handbook is published annually as a comprehensive guide to the Connecticut General Assembly - complete with a listing of all legislators and their contact information, key legislative deadlines, General Assembly committee membership, and information on the state Executive Branch.  In addition, there is helpful information for local officials seeking to better understand how to lobby their state delegation.
