Advocacy Resources

CCM publishes many reports and publications on issues of importance to local governments.  New ones are regularly added.

CCM's General Assembly Handbook is published annually as a comprehensive guide to the Connecticut General Assembly - complete with a listing of all legislators and their contact information, key legislative deadlines, General Assembly committee membership, and information on the state Executive Branch.  In addition, there is helpful information for local officials seeking to better understand how to lobby their state delegation.

CCM's Lobbying Guide for Municipal Officials is published annually. This advocacy guide will give you an in-depth look at what it takes to develop a relationship with your state legislators and why it is so important. We'll also provide you with several proven, successful advocacy strategies that take very little time or money to incorporate into your daily routine.  These strategies will lead to a strong, healthy relationship with your state legislators built on mutual trust and respect.

CCM's Federal Guide is published annually.  This guide provides the names, address, telephone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses, website addresses, staff names and titles, and committee and subcommittee responsibilities of the Connecticut delegation.  It also provides staffing information on the State of Connecticut's Washington Office and that of NLC's Center for Federal Relations.

CCM issues annual reports summarizing all new laws passed during the legislative session(s) that will have an impact on towns and cities.
